Neumann Student Publishes Book

Growing up, Neumann University student Amaris Manning always dreamed of writing and publishing her own book. Now she has.

Intermediate and high school had its ups and downs for Manning, but she turned that into inspiration for her young adult novel “We pEOPLE.”

The story is a first-person point-of-view novel, revolving around the life of a young girl named Meagan and everything she experiences in high school. Through a series of emails to a friend who has moved away, she relates the trials of a new group of friends she has met.

Years in the writing, the book came out as a project for Manning’s senior seminar in the Communication and Digital Media program where she had to design the book, including illustrating the cover, and learn how to publish it (in print and electronic form) as well as create a website and social media marketing campaign to go with it. The novel can be found on Amazon.com.

Manning was excited to learn how far she could take her dream. The book is available to readers in the US, India, Britain, and Mexico.
