Whether you’re interested in a healthcare career, a career in sports medicine or even a career as a health educator, this degree can help you reach your goals.
You can tailor your education by choosing from six tracks: Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Physiology and Health Education.
The degree’s pre-professional tracks help you prepare for graduate programs in those areas, while the other three can prepare you for both graduate school and the workforce. We’ve seen high rates of acceptance into graduate schools among our health sciences majors, as well as an excellent pass rate on professional certification exams.
Our high success rates are thanks to a robust curriculum that includes opportunities to put your knowledge into practice in state-of-the-art labs. In particular, our new Health Sciences Center boasts five labs you can use for hands-on learning.
You’ll get even more hands-on learning by completing an internship or observation course before graduating. Other interactive learning experiences include study abroad trips during spring break and trips to Florida to discover unique healthcare settings such as Disney World and NASA.

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences – Features
- We offer six specialization tracks: Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Physiology and Health Education.
- All health sciences majors must complete an internship or observational course to graduate.
- Students study in state-of-the-art facilities, including a new Health Science Center with five labs.
- Students have opportunities to travel abroad or domestically to learn about unique healthcare settings.
- Health sciences graduates have preferential admission to Neumann’s Doctor of Physical Therapy and MS in Athletic Training programs.
- The combined graduate and employment rate for our health sciences graduates is nearly 100 percent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences – Learning Outcomes
- Apply expertise in the field to support for strength and conditioning, exercise physiology and/or health education.
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, human anatomy/physiology, nutrition, exercise prescription and program design.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of exercise testing and prescription for a variety of different populations.
- Demonstrate currently acceptable professional practices and apply the knowledge to appropriate patients, athletes and/or clients.
- Function in a professional manner while working with other health professionals in a variety of settings.
