According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary for a pharmacist with a doctoral degree (PharmD) is $124,170.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The role of the pharmacist has changed immensely. Pharmacists don’t just fill prescriptions, they assist the health care provider to insure a positive outcome for their patients. They are expected to advise both their patients as well as physicians about the dosages, interactions, and side effects of the prescribed medication. Constant expansion of health care programs and the increasing need for quality pharmaceutical care insure a continuing demand for well-educated pharmacists. Graduates will be highly sought after by varied employers.
Pre-Pharmacy FAST FACTS
- Attend Neumann for two years of pre-pharmacy study
- Major in Biology or Liberal Arts
- Transfer to either Duquesne University or Wilkes University Doctor of Pharmacy program with preferential consideration for admission
