Submission, Review, and Acceptance Process
The Catalyst Editorial Board will accept submissions on a rolling basis until the stated deadline for each issue. Check the publication timelines below.
Step 1: Prepare and submit your manuscriptvia the Manuscript Submission Form (including an abstract of 100-200 words).
Submissions to Catalyst should follow the style guidelines and reference conventions of the Publication manual of the American Psychological Association: The official guide to APA style (7th ed.). Word limits for accepted manuscripts are 2000-3000 words for undergraduate manuscripts and 3000-5000 words for graduate manuscripts (not including references). Work with faculty and peers to ensure high quality and polished work for submission.
Step 2: Ask your faculty sponsorto complete and submit a separate Faculty Sponsor Form to endorse your manuscript.
Upon submission, you will be notified that a reviewer has been assigned to read your work (generally from within the discipline). The reviewer provides an assessment of the manuscript, comments, and suggestions to you and a recommendation for acceptance with minor revisions or revise and resubmit.
Step 3: Revise your manuscript. After receiving the reviewer comments, revise and polish the manuscript. The Editorial Board will review the revised manuscript and make final recommendations.
Step 4: Submit the final manuscript via the Manuscript Submission Form (Revised and Accepted Manuscripts) .
The deadline for submissions to be considered for the Fall 2024 issue is May 15!
